As a young child, I fabricated stories and pulled anyone that would listen into my world of fantasy.  My love of reading, magic and the written language sparked the yearning to write a novel...which finally took shape in Feb. of 2002.  A devotee of Scottish Historicals, Time-Travel and Paranormal Romances (to name a few) brought forth my first labor of love, "Amulet of Fate", where my hero is cursed as his clan motto--a cat!  I received a Recommended Read from Fallen Angels Reviews for that novel and wore a smile on my face for weeks afterwards.  It was the best feeling and motivated me to keep writing.

Champagne Books Group published all 6 of my completed novels.  I was honored by the publisher to join 5 other authors to write The Orphan Train series (Books share a prologue where 6 orphans meet on a train and promise to meet again in the future.), where my novel, Once a Rebel, won the Golden Rose Award for Best Historical Romance in 2008.  I learned a lot about the publishing process and greatly enjoyed working with my editor, Cindy Davis.

My writing career began just when eBooks were becoming a thing.  Social media was budding and marketing was not my strong point.  My goal is to learn more about marketing and try to be present on social media, always room for improvement!  My writing process starts with writing my thoughts in notebooks, fleshing out the idea until I can see the story from start to finish in my head.  Then I take it to my laptop and write and edit until I'm sick of looking at it.  If you know, you know!

Life sometimes gets in the way.  I fell off the grid for a while, yet my hand never stopped itching for a pen and paper, nor did the ideas stop coming.  Like some authors, my best ideas find me while I'm sleeping, and through music.  Yes, I do keep a pen and paper on the nightstand to try and catch the good stuff before it flees with the sandman!  My current WIP came about as one of those dreams.

Since the time of my last publication, I've completed a fantasy MS for a children's novel, which I shelved as I kept trying to write adults in for a romantic element.  Romance is my shining genre.  I have penned ideas for many other manuscripts and currently working on a standalone paranormal as well as a series of 8 paranormal romances/ urban fantasy.

On a personal note, I live in the mid-west with my wonderful family and small petting zoo.  I am the proud mother of 3, love and have many fur babies, and could not live without books!  The smell of books and bookstores, peanut butter, coffee, chai tea, cinnamon, monkeys and palm trees are among my favorite things.  I love a good thunderstorm.  When I was a child, my uncle called me Sam (Bewitched) as I used to laugh at thunder.  I enjoy painting, crafts and plants.  I want magic to be real and I don't like to be photographed.
